Heres my '52. I have extra grille teeth I want to put on, and I want to lower it a little. I am also leaning towards some simple pinstriping.

I am not one for "kustom" trucks, I really dig the lowered push trucks and hot rod inspired pickups, but this truck gives me goosebumps!

Thanks Hotrodsurfer, all done with no "bags", just pure suspension geometry the ole way but using modern components.

Anybody near St Louis know of some that could install a IFS and a rear end in a 59 F100? I had a newbie call me last night looking for advice. He is open to Volare, Mustang II, or what I have, a Ford Crown Victoria front suspension clip. Thanks for any leads,

Where in Canada did it go?
There is a similar truck in the Regina, Saskatchewan area but can not remember if it was flamed like yours.

Brewsir, I found this picture on Rikster's site. Do ya reckon this could be your old truck wearing new paint?

  24. Here's a '53 that is a replica of a bunch of F-100's that were customized by a new Ford dealership in Denver, Colorado called 'Bob Jones Skyland Motors' They were commonly referred to as "Bob Jones Specials" and were sold brand new right off the showroom floor fully customized. There was a write-up in Hot Rod Magazine (I think October, 1956) about these customized pickups entitled "Truckin First Class".

One of the pictures shows it next to the 'number 777' Bonneville streamliner which held the title of "Worlds Fastest Hot Rod" (powered by 3-flathead engines) in the 1950's and was sponsored by 'Bob Jones Skyland Motors'

This truck is powered by a 500 Cadillac engine and has a Chrysler Cordoba front end using a Gibbon crossmember.

Here's mine. It sat for 19 years until I got it in Oct of 06. First job was to get it road worthy again. This year I want to update it bit.

    "What color?"

some mixture of rustoleum Regal Red and Black, and about 30 years of age. Since I've been using it and its been out in the sun, its looks more like iron oxide primer now. It's a 50 footer!

Any problems with fading? I mean, does it get real chalky if you don't do much to it?

Any cracking problems? I'm wanting to do the same with mine, in the same color.

Did you use any hardener? Any clue (an educated guess is okay) as to what percentage of red vs black you used? Gloss or semi-gloss?

Sorry for all the questions - just looking for tips. :)

    ~Jason
