  5. hard to give an exact answer because every car is different. the width you need depends on how you plan on setting up the car , stuff like: channeled/un-channeled ?, full fendered/fenderless ? , what size wheels and tires , offset of the wheels ?

the correct way to determine the width of the rear end is to place the wheel/tires you want to use where you want them to be , then measure the distance between the wheel mounting surfaces

the 60's bronco already suggested will be 58" wide from wheel mounting surface to wheel mounting surface. it is a 9" rear .it will also have a 5 on 5-1/2" bolt circle. a maverick rear is 56" and usually works out on full fendered cars , but is an 8" . it has a 4-1/2" bolt circle

if you are drastically channeling your car , you will need a rear somewhere from 59-61 inches , again depending on wheels/tires/offsets. hope this helps

Heres a neat use of 36 radius rods with 9 inch.

Fender less and Channeled?? Go with a mid seventies (give or take a few years) Ford F150.

#46-------I use a stock width '57 Ford Station wagon, tread measurement is 58 inches, this fits fender width's real nice & allows up & down movements with clearance. The T-Bird & Ranchero stats are also the same.------------Don
