Yeah I know just another shoebox (4dr :()with a tail light treatment, but I think 56 Rambler tail lights are a little different,56 Mercury bumper narrowed 4". If I can get my wife out of the hospital, there may be a chance it could make it on the road late next summer.

  9. RR&C Those are some nice touches to your Stude. Love the headlights, the windsplits (49/50 taillights?) and the Caddy dash! Can't wait to see it finished.

Rod Knocker, I'll add your wife to the Chapel prayer list. Hope she is home soon for the whole family. Then you can get back to work on the Ford.

ZMAN.....your cars must be absolutely incredible beyond belief.....

  12. Yeah Bob's is really a rare one.....topolino's are fairly well know in rodding circles...but mainly as drag cars...one more reason for Bob's delivery being even rarer...i know i'm really lucky to have landed my topo, thanks again to ya for sending it my way..all out street/hiway cruiser..little track time, of course.......

and hopefully we'll be able to post a few pics of Bob's and mine together..that would be cool..........

I think this is fresh as fuck.

I could do without those doodads near the tail. And I would have simplified the decorative additions to the car. It ruins the lines.

They are. :D Hell I even owned a PT, got it for the ex, but I would of never thought of trying to make it a Rat Rods. I don't believe in putting Lexus interiors or Mercedes headlights in anything but Lexus' or Mercedes. If you think the cars that I replied to are correct, good looking, or right you need your head checked, and you need to figure out where you are. Ther worst to me is when I see genuine craftsmanship used to make a horrible styling decision.

  15. That is what makes this site! To each his own, some people creations might look sharp to all but sometimes one's own dream or nightmare might only get the owners only approval. How many rat rods do you see with little tricks and goodies here and there? Some people will love it some people will hate it! Quit your bitchin and show us what you got and see if your style is a poser or trendsetter! And to me there is nothing wrong with see another 32 roadster that is fenderless and a regular paint job. But to be me you got to add your own personality to your rod or it's just not you!

No, what makes this site is "traditional hot rods and customs". Sometimes things get a little off topic but it usually stays within the boundries for the most part. I have nothing to add to your abortion fest. It'd be dare to be tasteful.:rolleyes:

  18. Hot rodding was based on being different. From the days of Daytona beach to early days of El Mirage and Bonneville from the east coast to the west coast, someone took their ideas and dreams and made them real. How many creations in the 60's look horrible? But it took a guy like Ed Iskenderian to build what we call traditional style to Ed Roth with his crazy far out ideas. Hot rods are like our personalities, now some maybe tasteful others might be a trainwreck. But I'm not going to knock anyone for their love of hot rods. I love the tradional hot rods of the 50's and 60's but to get to that point someone had to dare to be different in their blood. How many times as a kid did you get knocked down by someone for being a hot rodder? Did it matter to you? Probably not because it who you are! What's the line between a (I hate saying this word) rat rod to daring to be different??:)

Its a Citroen 2CV, cool modification, and thats the only this cars can be used to.................................

  28. I don't know. I kind of more then like Gary Fioto's pick up, which he built something like 25-30 years ago and the Merc.
Personally, I don't care to see Buick headlight bezels on so many customs. Now those were different when they were first applied on a custom. I would have said, gag me with a spoon, they look so "Add ON after thoughts in many instances.
I know some of Gary's builds can be over the top but I spent time in his home garage while he was building cars 20 years ago. He likes using old Caddy parts in his builds. It's his style.
His first build was a rail job for the street. So, he thinks outside the box but so did every other Custom guru so many worship today. If they thought and built like everyone else where would the Custom World be today?
    To each his own.
