distance between louvers

is there a standard distance between louvers on a decklid or hood? homemade44 (joe) says his are 3/8" apart. any other measurements out there? thanks

 

I'v got my machine set for 1/2".

The louver dies usually use the preceding louver as a gauge making the space between the same size as the louver.

 

A weenies width.

 

If you have the chance you should go watch louvers being punched, then you would understand the spacing. If you want them further apart than the Dye width you'd need to build a guide or spacer of some kind to achieve that.
