I debated about posting more pics of my truck because to be honest, i feel like there becoming boring... BUT, i did feel the need to post these because this has nothing to do with what i did, it has to do with what another friend and striper/artist did.. I wanted to show you guy's. I've ALWAYS had an interest in early hot rod logo's, probably like many of you have.. My ALL TIME favorite being Clay Smith's "Mr.Horsepower". I have that stuff all over my house and even on my arm So, the last thing i wanted to do on my truck was have that logo painted on the lower front fenders.. Another friend, Ron Lasker (known as "Rondvoo") is one HELL of an artist and came over today to finish it up... He too is from the Buffalo area as was Paul Von Straus, the fella who striped the flames..And both are good friends of each other's as well... Well, he did a quick free hand drawing from a pic i had, then put brush to panel to make it happen.. A BIG thanks for Ron, and Paul for taking care of me and doing some GREAT work on my truck! If anyone that's relatively close need's work done, contact these guy's, you WON'T be dissapointed! ( just send me a pm and i'll get you in touch with 'em ") Sorry for the long winded story, i just wanted to say thanks.. So, without further nonsense, here's the pics.. Tony
Thanks fella's.. I copied the link to this thread and sent it along to them.. I'm sure they appreciate the kind words as do i. Tony-
Thanks guy's.. I only have one full shot of the truck as it is now, and it's not that great. I can't get a good pic of it because of lack of room around it.. I just can't get the whole thing in a pic.. So, here's the only one i have.. It's from my cell phone besides so it's not that great. Still need to put the running boards back on along with the filler panels in front of the rear fenders. Front and rear glass is going in next weekend, and have yet to get the lower grill bar. The place we got them from sent us two upper's and no lower.. I'll try again to get a decent profile shot of it either tonight or tomorrow.. Tony
Hey, quit hogging all the local talent...lol looks great by the way Ron's also the guy that carved my rat-fink out of the block of foam
Damn, i forgot he did that too.. That thing's cool....Talent i say, pure and simple! JT, what's up man?? How's your truck coming along??
Thanks guy's.. Greg, it'll be there this year, finally. I'mnot sure if we will be there all weekend like we normally do though. The show's good, but starting to get boring and expensive to stay for 4 days.. Might just be there friday night and saturday. We havn't really discussed it though. Since these were taken i drove it home from my buddy's shop. First drive since i tore it apart last Nov..felt good to finally be able to do that after all the bs this thing has handed me. I now have the running board on the pass side all finished up. Made all new brackets to mount them. I need to make a new filler panel for each side then the body is finished. On to finishing the bed next. I'll post more as it come's closer to being done. Thanks again guy's.. Tony
Thanks Jeff.. That's the plan, but it was my plan last year too that didn't happen. I think this time there's a light at the end of the tunnel though.. By the time the show come's around it should be pretty well done save for thing's like the interior. Once i finish the bed floor and side glass it's actually road worthy.. It'll be nice to have working wipers and HEAT for that trip! My old truck had both, well enough that it made it fairly comfortable to drive, the 53 had neither and it was cold and rained the whole way there and back. This has two speed wipers and vintage air/heat/defrost now, should be like driving my 02 GMC .. Tony
