    not me, my pops,

early sixties here is the liniage...
grandpa helps dad fix up a 55 ford.
    dad sells ford.
dad combines money from saving and ford to buy used 1962 fuelie vette. late 1963
dad gets married to a Bitch (not my mom)
trades vette in for a new model called a camaro.
1970 camaro gets stripped and burned.
purchase 1971 buick gs because chevy guy had an attitude about the price on the chevelle ss.
1972 dad gets a divorce wife gets the grand sport dad gets his 1966 chevy c-10
    ...still 1972, '66 chevy c- 10 meets bridge abutment.

so dad would have been better off running to mexico in his ford, but if he had i wouldn't be here.

    good job dad!

When I was 18 I traded a baseball hat and a butterfly knife for a solid, original '59 VW Beetle that was missing the motor. Still have it...

Worst trade I've made was a $2k fiberglass dunebuggy for a bedless, 6cyl. '67 Chevy pickup that was worth about $500...

and I'm slowly trading my liver for Mickey's Malt Liquor puzzle caps... :D

How about the trades we didn't make! I was offered a 65 Corvette even up for my 62 H/D Sportster...turned him down. Go figure!
Traded my 4 speed V8 63 Falcon Sprint in cherry condition for a 71 Pinto. Went to the dealer to buy a new Mach 1 Mustang and my wife convinced me the Pinto made more sense. Still have the wife.....Pinto is long gone.
Best deal I made( next to my bride) was $40.00 and a 389 Pontiac engine for my 34 Ford five window coupe. Still have the coupe after 40 plus years.

  6. Swapped my cherry-pie 47 caddy sedan for a primered 55 dodge shortbox...I felt bad until one day I pulled up next to my old caddy in my pickup and as it slowed for a signal, the caddy's brakes were grinding metal to metal. The car was dirty and there was a hippy driving it. He was dirtier than the caddy!

I traded my '66 Convertible Corvette for $4K. I traded my '47 Chevy daily driver (350/350 combo, Fatman MII Front, Nova Rear, Vintage Air, Posies springs, etc) for a non-running '27 Ford tudor with Pinto suspension and drivetrain (The OL was Pissed!).

I should have been shot. I traded a 55 Chevy 2dr ht 327 4spd decent driver, but screwed up title, for a 60 vw bug, good title. I needed a cheap work car at the time.

Traded '65 Plymouth Belvedere II/383/4sp for 68 Chrysler New Yorker. Never made a payment on the New Yorker, traded about 15 days later for a new '69 SuperBee.

My 61 falcon 2dr for nothing (junkyard), because I lost my storage.

Wish I had everything I ever sold back, plus bought all the stuff I missed out on because I had to wait because I just HAD to think about it.

Took a 72' Buick Skylark with a 427 Chevrolet motor, turbo 400, and 4.56:1 Chevelle 12 bolt posi (bracket car) as part trade for my Super Comp Rear Motored Dragster; then later traded the Skylark for my FIRST 56' Chevrolet Sedan Delivery (rust bucket). Later, after getting my SECOND 56' Chevrolet Sedan Delivery (a real good car), I sold the FIRST Delivery back to the guy I got it from. NEVER lost ANY money on the whole deal, but wish I had the Super Comp car back now. Change is good (?)! Butch/56sedandelivery.

My worst trade want even meant to be a trade. Sold one of my hotrods to my parents for 10g and a bog stock 302/C4. I had to get the car off the base so I let my parents take it. They delivered the 302, still haven't seen a cent of the 10g that was 6 years ago.
Nice parents, wouldn't even give me some of the money when Veterans Affairs stopped my pension and I got evicted from my home.

I think I am going to always regret selling my '58 Apache. I was getting ready to deploy to Afghanistan (where I am now) and she was getting ready to go into storage for a few years only to get torn down and a fresh start. I was glad to see it go to a good guy, but I will forever miss her. I ended up using the money to buy a Yamaha Raptor 700R. Just isn't the same.

    Someday, maybe we'll meet again...

In 1969 or 70 I traded my really nice Irish green 1964 Porsche 356SC for a VW bug plus some cash. What was I thinkin'? The Porsche was the best car I ever owned. I wish I still had it.
Not a trade, but around 1972 I sold my really ratty Morgan Plus4. Wish I still had that too!

alcoholic girlfriend for cheating money stealing ex wife..worst trade ever!

  29. I sold my cousin my 1967 Mustang fastback for $500.00. It was a 390cu.in. witha 3 speed trans. It was black with the deluxe interior with the brushed aliuminum panels and console. I sold it because I bought a 1969 Mustang fastback with a custom frontend that looked like a Shelby. The problem was the 69 had been salvaged from a wreck and I got rid of it with in 3 months. I still miss the 67 and my wife won't let my forget my mistake.LOL
