    Hi
I bought this dash, real cheap, from the net. Always handy for a next project. Does anyone know from what car it is taken.
    regards

Those numbers go pretty high for any thing made in th USA. I wonder if they read in KLOmeters (mispelled)

  3. Are there any #s or marking on the back? If so what are they.

Looks like a US version of an import. Odd how the speedometer is in levels of 15. I don't know why but it hits me as something Euro in nature like Swedish, German, maybe Italian, I like though...a lot.

The high beam indicator is "Upper beam". Petrol is not necessarily more foreign than "gasoline". I don't know if early cars, even foreign ones, used Celsius measurement of temperature rather than Fahrenheit.

I'd agree on the foreign origin.

Mid-'30s Ford Truck instrument panels look a lot like that. Due to the kilometers per hour speedometer and the English langauge used on the other intstruments I would guess Canadian or Austrailian Ford.

  13. Fonts look 1920s or early 30s;

    IF it is kph, 150kph = 93mph.

  14. Did you buy that in NL ? Maybe it,s a KAISER. They were built in Rotterdam.

Sorry Bobby, I did not know it was in use, as you can see I do not post much. I will change it. It is a pretty cool sign. I tried to contact the old crow shop if I can use it on the side of my car no replie so far.
Thanks you all for the dash Input.

Hey Bobby, finally contact, the car is not finished yet, it is a '31 Chevy 5w coupe that will look like a Ford in the end with a '32 Ford grille.. The original chassis is pinched in front and rear, has a French flathead, dropped Ford suspension in front with Buick drums and a 9" Ford rear with a model A spring also with Buick drums. It will have cowl steering and a '41 Dodge dash with a '40 Ford steeringwheel. It will get a chop for at least 4" I like the old crow sign and I want to put it on the side in a faded paint. if I do not answer any mails that's because I have to go to sea tomorrow for a couple of days
    Regards

    .

Whatever it Is? I like It, and 150mph to boot!

GM Bodied Cop Car speedo or new face on an old cluster?

It reminds me of the 30's thru 50's style of a Pontiac or Olds instrument cluster for some reason??

But someone else mentioned Zephyr and it does resemble 40's Lincoln or Mopar?

Yet the 'Upper Beam' makes a guy think European, like 30's Hupmobile

Whichever?, It must be pretty rare if it is a Factory GM part...

  27. An old thread from KANUCK442 and his 1936 OLDS has just popped up again and he has the same dash in his car.

  28. Looks like '36 Olds is the answer!

    BTW, Hupmobile was American...

36 olds is a correct guess - though I don't think mine reads that high!
