So does your car have a name?

Ditto. The night I bought my Desoto, I had a dream in which her name was Millie. I figured I can't argue with that, thus that is her name. I don't habitually name cars, but I am a bit superstitious. The Plymouth has not revealed a name, and I usually call her "fat fucking bitch." But for good reason!

Some vehicles get a name ... others do not. :)

My wife started calling our " under progress " 32 3W coupe " Little Sister " because it is sharing the garage with my old 32 roadster.

My wife and I both have late model white Cadillacs as everyday drivers so when the " white Cadillac name " did not work anymore ... the two Cadillacs got a name each. Hers is called " Elizabeth " because it is painted White Diamonds ... and Elizabet Taylor has a perfume named that and my Cadillac is named " Casper " ... just because it is white ... like a ghost.

My red truck is just the truck and my Harley is just the Harley.

I bought a low mileage 83 Caprice Classic from a elderly man who was going to assisted living and the Caprice had been sitting for a year. The man's first name was " George " ... so the Caprice became " George " ... I recently sold it to a friends daughter ... and I do not know if the name stuck. I hope so ... the man I got it from really loved that old Caprice and he passed away recently.

Exactly. The non-HAMB friendly BMW is well. . .the Beamer. . .it is a great piece of machinery, but it has no soul.

My 59' Edsel is Audrey, because like the carniverous plant in Little Shop of Horrors, she demands regular blood sacrifice and can often be heard growling, "Feeeed me!" (gas, oil, tranny fluid. . .fingers, knuckles, kneecaps. . .).

She was named Gladys (unbeknownst to me when I first bought her), but with the changes I've made to her interior (and soon to her paint) she's not so "lil' ol' lady" anymore ;):)

My cars don't really have names. If I were to give them a name they wouldn't be a person's name.

Never thought about it, but what the heck.

My 38 truck I would call it jethro, also I have called it the frankin' ford (borrowed named)

My 42 sedan... possessed, because it is. Fix one thing, something else goes wrong.

My 53.... I guess I would call her Marge:)

All my cars have the same name:

    "the"

    As in "the" hot rod.

I never could understand why you'd name a car.

Ive found that cars have personalities. They seem to "do" some things and just behave a certain way. I think a cars name should be something specific to the car. Just making up a name for the sake of a name is ok, but thats not how i name my cars. Some cars dont seem to have a name. I dont name them then. If they seem to be a certain way, i go with whatever that may be. Whether i like it or even of i dont.

Herbie the Luv Bug did a number on me as a kid. Ever since that movie I have named every car either I or someone else in my family has owned. The only exception has been my current Model "T". It has been known simply as "the Jalopy".

The previous owner of my car called it Stella. I said "just like the Belgian beer, I like that". So needless to say I call it The Hangover.

But usually I call it The Ford.

Mine truck has been in the family since it was new. My great uncle bought it in 1952.

For as long as I can remember everyone in my family has called it "Ol Bessy".

My kids call it "daddy's broken truck" :)

This is "Priscilla", 1955 Desoto. I bought her all stock when I was 15 (5 years ago) and named her after a week of driving it to school. You see, Elvis took Priscilla's virginity (his wife), So I feel like taking my car's virginity after I started cutting, tearing in the old hemi and taking a hammer to it would qualify it for my own Priscilla.
Dumb, I know, but this car and me have been through alot and we're close.
