Need a dipstick for '64 283

    I've tried two different dipsticks now (Mr. Gasket MRG-6235 and Summit SUM-G3865 ) that both say they work for my car, neither of which seem to fit. Both are to large in diameter and don't fit into the hole. Hole is on driver side just below the exhaust ports.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Either one will work, provided you don't have a broken piece left in the block from the original.

    alot of sbc had a tube in the dipstick hole that extended into the oil pan. that needs to be removed to use the aftermarket dipsticks

    Mr gasket should be mr crap, had the same problem, on a '74 350 ground a little off of the tube and it fit fine,
