How many times have you heard... "so and so has a few old cars lying around" only to go take a look and there's absolutely nothing there that you'd care about or even want to see? Well... yesterday I had the great pleasure of walking though a few very cool personal collections. Nothing is for sale at the moment and most are very far gone... I was just happy to spend the day amongst a crapload of old tin with the sun out on a warm fall day and a camera in hand.... enjoy! http://picasaweb.google.com/deckerpicasa/WalkInTheWoods#slideshow </EMBED< a>
Pretty cool pics. It amazes me how someone with all of that on there land would not want to sell any of it.
i only saw a few that looked "too far gone".............end up being another "they rotted till the owner died and then they got buried..crushed.."" that v nosed willys truck reminded me of my old 53...and a flat nose too...guess i'm used to seing lots of old ford tin setting since i joined the Hamb board...........
The willys pickups would sure come in handy once i get round to rebuilding mine. Wish i had a stepside bed
Great photos, and capture of the old tin just sitting there. I bet some of those old girls can tell a story or two. However to see them rot like that saddens me, I wish the old guy would sell them off and let someone at least bring them back to their glory. But like all stories, he will die, and then they will go to the metal scrap merchant heading for China.
Don't let it all be lost keep an eye on it and stop by once in a while to see if it might be for sale............
thats one of my favorite things to do to. that guy has a lot of cool stuff. he better start selling soon, or it all will be too far gone.
Looks like a fun way to spend a warm Midwest day. If he ever decides to sell out, let me know and I'll bring up a trailer.
People who hoard and let this noble iron rot are like hookers who won't screw....worthless. Some REALLY cool stuff in there, makes me want to cry!
So is my bosses... the next time he pulls it outside I'll get some better pictures of it. (these were just on the work 'puter) There were only 953 of them made... most are lost and gone... plus one more I found this weekend. For those of you that are tossing and turning and not sleeping at night... fretting they will all go to waste or get crushed to make cheap scooby-doo lunch boxes... don't!!! These will all have a good home some day... some day...
I agree. Many of good cars go to the crusher, when the guy dies and family step in. Lots of good early Ford stuff. Looks like he had a couple of model a pickups. So whats up with the stuff? Why want he sell?
