He's everywhere! That's my shed now(Grandparents-home place). Notice the Conquistadors C.C. jacket. There are a couple still around, we used Dad's jacket as a rag at the farm!!!

 

Last one, with a story. For those who put helmets on their kids when they ride their bike. One of my earliest and best memories is standing right there in the Falcon when Dad would 'test & tune' on the street from our place to the neighbors and back! Hang on, stand up, or fall down and eat the roll bar!
I still have the Olds caps, the tachs from the Falcon AND the Galaxie, the Eelco tank, the alum. ramps, and the Moon discs and 15x7 Torq Thrusts he ran later on.

 

Hell yeah that must've been fun hanging onto that roll bar!

My dad raced a triumph spitfire in the scca when I was a kid. When I was a kid I used to think that thing was the coolest thing ever. I still think it was pretty dam cool but maybe not the coolest. I haven't even seen a picture of it since I was a kid, My shit head older brother grabbed all the picture of my dads old cars when my folks got divorced. I have a few of his old trophies and his old racing suit but that's about it.

That is a look I have always liked. No top or windshield. Cover over passanger space. There was a square bird that showed up at El Mirage like that recently but was told they had no class it was legal for. So it has only been back once that I saw. I really liked it. Wish it would come back. Really like the Falcon too. Do another one.

 

Very cool, it would be awesome to see it built again. What year was it originally built? I see January 66 on the one photo of it in the shed. What class was it run in, Altered ? What did it run for times? And I second the what happened to the rest of the car question?

Dad ran a 428/toploader. I have another shot of it in action taken at Beardstown, IL., I can't remember what exact class, altered for sure. The car was last known to be in the Louisiana,Mo area. The guy Dad sold it to (in the '70s) sold it to a family member and I can't get him to get me connected.
I am kind of in the market for a Falcon (it was a '60) to recreate it. No big rush, too many projects ahead of it!

Got to watch him test and tune at Lions while standing on the stairs to the bridge.
We were stunned to hear the car run without shifting . . . high gear all the way.

Geez, a Falcon like your dads would be great with a full roll cage.
A very modest engine would have it running in the low tens and touching on the nines...

 

What a great looking car with a cool history.

You know, style-wise, it reminds me of a mini-Batmobile.

 

I love the story about riding hanging onto the roll bar! Now days they'd sent a parent to jail for child endangerment for that!
