    Got a question:

What type of steering should I use on this truck?
Steerring box on the chassis or inside the cab, with the arm sticking out the side of the cowl?
What did they do with most of the hotrods back in the '50's?
    Thanx

Good news!I no longer have to search for a bed or make a copy of the '37 one I was going to use,my dad told me that I can take the one of his '47 Ford pick-up,'cause he desided to turn the pick-up into a woodie delivery van now.
So work on the '39 is going to start sooner than I thought.....YEAH!! :D

    Will keep you posted

Also..what do you fellow Hambers think?Should I spray the chassis gloss black?matt black?or I was thinking metal-flake gold?!.....what colours did they go for in the early '50's or chassis?

  6. Apart from black? Black is good.

bed will have a wooden floor with copper plates
all piping on this vehicle will also be copper.

Cool truck I my be biased to these trucks Her is mind a 39 to. 39s do have the single vertical bar in the grill in the US any way although I like the 3 bar one better.

    from Texas

We sold lots of parts to restorers and rodders in South Africa and Rhodesia(that probably doesn't happen anymore since the name change) over the years at Specialized Auto Parts in Houston.

That was long ago....when we(SA) still had money & Rhodesia was still a country(what's going on there nowadays I wouldn't call a country)...most cars that SA-restorers did a couple of yrs ago & rare models came from Rhodesia(Zimbabwe-aka-$..tland) :D
