You are insane. It looks awesome.
If you haven't seen them before, check out some of the cars at http://www.decorides.com/ -- some pretty cool rooflines. There's one image in particular I'm thinking of, but I can't seem to find it.... But they have a funky sort of art-deco thing going on (obviously), with the boat-tail style.

EDIT: It always helps to look on the right website.... This is the image I was thinking of... from http://www.delahayeusa.com/saoutchik.html.

Not the same style of car at all, but for some reason I think that sort of roofline would look killer on your shoebox.

  5. The amazing thing is the entire car has been built with those few tools seen hanging on the pegboard on the background...anxious to see the finished product...

    Now that's sweet.

And you can assemble all the parts you've taken off into a bitchin' shoebox Ford!

Wow, the rear deck lid is awesome. This thing is going to be very impressive! Again, this is the car I look for an update on each weekend, and it just keeps getting better and better.

I love the new trim idea laid out on the rear quarters.

That deck lid is amazing, just be careful you don't loose the character of the car you started with or maybe you don't care. It is looking good though.

    thanks for the compliment,,
the car will have its own character,,,,
there will be very few things that resemble a shoebox when its done,,,every panel is getting altered in some way,,,hood-pancaked, headlights-56 lincoln, fenders-sectioned, doors-sectioned and tapered, quarters-sectioned, pie cut, and 56 lincoln quarters, decklid-56 lincoln hood, roof-wraparound windshield with custom roof, etc, etc,,,way too much to list,,,,,,,,,,,i have a few more things to figure out,,

The coolest part about all this is, that so far every one of your versions - the mild, the wild and now the radical, (and every thing in-between), have looked great! They would have all made killer customs in their own right.
Keep up the good work Jim!!
There must be something in that Jersey water!:D

Thats true, so far he's built 3 different cars outta the same one. Its not Jersey water, it's Jim's water. :) You'll notice my shoebox is still all in one piece, kinda. Please don't lump us all in with this nutjob.

Its all about "Damn, if I only knew then..."

Shit, think of it this way, if you had started out with a sketch it would have probably been easier to start with my old 51 sedan! No roof, no need for cutting all that clean Tx sheetmetal on the coupe! :D If you really wanna get out there the 79 Olds roof is all yours haha.

  23. Are the fins going back on, or not? I guess no.

Digging the Lincoln quarters and hood on there.

  26. Love it, you are building the worlds only life size pedal car. :)

  27. That's awesome.
Is the tape line on the door the final (LOL) body shape, or trim mock up?
You going up with the front fender line as well?

    more "tweaking" from today...........

i wasn't entirely happy with the tapered section i did on the quarters,,with the lincoln fins grafted on, they tapered too much,,,so i "untapered" them, and i think it flows MUCH better now,,,,,,,the door will be reshaped to follow the tape line,,then i will fit up the wraparound windshield,,,,also reshaped the fender/door cove area to a shape that flows a little smoother in my opinion,,,

still trying to work out the rear bumper design,,,not sure if i like the bullets (they are 55 packards front bumper bullets)...

really starting to make some final design decisions at this point,,,things are coming together and really starting to work....
