I never saw anyone around the car, it was right by where I was set up on the long course one day. I have another pic though.

FYI--Wendover AAF (Army Air Field) was where the 509th Composite Group was assembled and trained for the atomic bomb missions in early 1945. The Enola Gay, the B-29 that dropped the first atom bomb on Hiroshima, may well have spent time inside this maintenence hangar. (Enola Gay Tibbets was Colonel Paul Tibbets' mother. Col. Tibbets commanded the 509th.) Great picture.

Here's a couple of my fav's from this year...

It was the 1st trip to B'ville for my pal Tommy & his kids, so I thought it was proper to have them to drive onto the salt in my roadster to get the full effect.

I think we finally converted 16yr old Tommy Jr from life as a "tuner", because he drove the rod more than I did.

I think that the look on little Kyle's face just sez it all!!!

Here's a current shot of the old barracks where the rodders used to stay in the 50's when the base was abandoned.

Also the other side of the hanger was a really cool background for the cars!

Thanks for my new desktop photo! I could only get some crappy night pictures of the #55 in front of the Nugget.

Also, next year I think I'm going to take a tripod. A bunch of my pictures are ruined because the horizon slopes to one side. I'm not a photo guy, but I'd like to hear your tips.

    So far, all I know is that I should try to;
    1. ...take pics at sunrise or sunset.
    2. ...take pics of the 'lit' side of the car.
    3. ...leave space in front of the car.
    4. ...get the light at a 90* angle to the way I'm aiming the camera.
    5. ...keep the horizon horizontal.

Anybody take some pics of Wendover Will? :D

Did someone say Wendover will? Not the best pic. I did not have tripod and the light was getting low.

Yeah, stopped at Mildreds. 100 or so gourmet burgers. Dad ordered a Mexican burger on the menu. He started the price at $27 came down to $9 and Dad finally got it for $6. He sold the same burger to my uncle for $5.50!. Quite a character.
Met the guy that restored the Goldenrod there...can't remember his name.

I like the mornings and the sunrise. This one has a reflection in the shot that is the sun coming up over the floating mounting.
