I'd love to get/buy a 1964 Plymouth Belvedere 2 dr Hardtop. I've contemplated on trading or selling my 1973 Cuda 340 roller for one in the past. It wouldn't even have to be a highly optioned car, just very clean. I know there is a killer one that came out of Chicago back in the day.
My old man ordered a Blue 1964 Plymouth Belvedere 2 dr hardtop with a 426 Hemi and 4spd with a steel nose, he only had it for a few days and it was one of the very early ones made without the aluminum nose and before they shipped the parts out to the owners or had them already installed. Long BS story and If I ever run into the person who ruined it for him, I'm going to have some serious words. :)
The car had heat (rare) and had a ton of Super Stock options. I'd love to relocate the car and just see if it still exists.

    Can anyone find out?

It was originally order from Sedgwick Plymouth of Chicago, I may have the spelling wrong, but I do know I'm close.

After he had to give the car up (back to the dealer), the new owner bought it and my dad watched that car win the next weekend race and the winner took home a complete 426 Max Wedge. It almost brought a tear to his eyes since that was his car and he special ordered it down to every part option. The dealer said the options did not exist at the time and he told them to call it in and the dealer had no idea what it was he ordered until it arrived.
He started to order the car in 1963 after helping Tom Grove (did not know him on a personal level, just met him at the track) with a transmission and Tom helped him with the numbers and he order the car at the ripe age of 18.

What I would do to have the car find my old man again is pretty endless. A picture would even make me happy.... :)

It may not be a "real" super stock - but to me it's "super."

Last October, I drove it in to the Strip in Kansas City, clicked off 2 runs in the low 11.20s @ 123mph and drove it home - With open headers... My neighbors gotta LOVE me! :p

    Cheers,

  19. Hey! That picture looks like a model sitting on a blanket or something. Did it run 11.20's while you were holding it out the window of a real '62?

Harg Harg Thats funny! That's one I've never heard before - but I guess it does look a little like a car on a blanket doesn't it..?

I used to work a production house, and one night I just pulled the car in and experimented with lighting and my old film camera. Here's some more scans from that shoot.

    sorry...its long gone.

  27. Cool car. My brother and I are ressurrecting and old 62 440
hardtop Superstocker. It was run by Pat Foley, Pat Melendy and
Marlin Goerske to mention a few. It'll run the 2 4bbl 383 engine
now factored to 330 Hp and fits in SS/G-I. I'll post some pics
soon, and I'll include more specs, but I've tried twice today and
as soon as I get "long winded" and try to submit a post, the damn
thing erases my post and say's I need to sign in, even thought I
already did. Any body else had that problem? Fix?

Looks sweet! Was it an AWB when you got it? Does the car have a racing history?
