Bolt-on mounts for 3 link suspension

    Thanks for all the input on the 3 link questions I asked. I'm about ready to start changing over the old ford rear radius rods for a stronger 3 link suspension. There are already two wrap around brackets welded around the top of the axle tubes which was for mounting the old ford rods. I was thinking about making mounts for the new lower control arms that would bolt to the preexisting mount. The mount uses two 1/2" bolts. Would this work or should I go ahead and weld on new brackets instead. I'm not going to cut off the wrap around bracket either way, but it would be easier to build two mounts out of 3/8" and 1/4" steel and bolt them on.
