Well I have made some progress on the roadster, got to drive it yesterday for the first time. Been working weekends for the last month and its paid off, still alot of little things to do but boy Im walkin on air. First pic was about the end of Febuary, and the second today...
Looks good.........and I'm jealous! I take it things went well, did all the basics behave, cooling, brakes, etc. ?
its real nice the first time but of course they are never really done but still it sure is a nice feeling
I wanted to build a 32 since the Limefire roadster came out in Hot Rod, my taste has changed abit but the feeling was still there. I have built 2 28-29 {my avatar is my old roadster} and 1 T Bucket............everything cooperated suprisingly well still some issues with the big block but that will come.......Thanks for the comments. RP
That's great that all your labor can now be driven. I also drove my '27 track T for the first time yesterday, and it is a great feeling.
I can vividly remember that 'first time', sitting on a milk crate, made it all the way to the corner gas station, open headers, BIG SMILE, exhaust burning my eyes, filled the tank & returned to my house, where my wife was waiting with hands on hips mutering something over the loud exhaust noise!!!!!----That was 1963, at present time odometer(s) combined read 300,000 miles, me & my 32 roadster are both 75 last yr., but still love chasing those lines, smiling all the way!!!!----Good luck in your 32 roadster adventure-----Don
Congratulations, I cant wait to get my first drive, Sadly I cant see the end for my roadster at the moment
Well done, each is a lesson in perseverance;they don,t come easy. You sticking with the wheels you got or is there flash waiting in the wings with a spray job?
Can't beat that first drive, but nothing says you can't keep trying to top it. Super looking car and I really dig the big block. There's one going in my 5w that's been planned for over 30 years. To hell with the gas prices, full steam ahead. Frank
No spray job in the future, I have a set a Halibrands I may put on later, but for now the steelies are stayin, (easier to cleanup)...heres a couple more pics and thanks for all the comments. RP
