Fuel Gauge

    How Can I Make My Fuel Gauge To Read Right , I Have A Mustang Tank With The Stock Sending Unit And Vdo Gauge , If Reads Full When I Have Half Tank , Goes Do To A Little Less Than 3/4 Tank , Is There Anyway To Adjust The Gauge ? Thanks Keith

    You have two options.
    Either change the sender or change the gauge.
    They have to be of the same type.
    Both of these can vary in ohms.
    Meaning some read empty at 80 ohms others read empty at 0 ohms.
    You need a set that is compatible and operate at the same amount ohms.
    If its slightly off bending the float arm makes a difference but your way off.
     
  3. a VDO gauge needs a sender that is 10 ohms empty and 180 ohms full


    i believe your mustang gauge uses a sender that is 73 ohms empty and 10 full

    Get a sending unit to match your VDO gauge, that will do the trick.
    Unless you get a gauge to match your sending unit. The ohms are off.

    Just go out and buy a VDO sending unit.
