In 1970 I bought a new VW beetle. It had Koni shocks, EMPI sway bars and Michlen X's on EMPI wheels. It was the best handling car I have ever owned. The faster I drove it the better she drove and rode. (up to 85 that is ) At 90,000 miles I had to put new tires on and I cheesed out and put bias ply back on it. I didn't drive it a half mile and I was SICK. It was not the same car. I sold it within a month. Bias ply look good on trad rods but they suck if you intend to drive it. Available traction is about 2/3 of radials so they don't stop as well either.
