OT- HAMB Drags Hotel gets overhauled

Hope it doesn't get too fancy or they will want to keep the riff-raff out.

 

According to the story, the new owners have been there for months, and were there during the HAMB Drags. Hopefully, they'll realize what a goldmine it is.

 

i resemble that riff raff remark!

 

They were redoing the rooms when we were there...

 

Lets hope they still let us do our thing there. The room we had last year really needed to be redone, it was almost as rough as my car.....

I must have got lucky ,cuz my room was pretty nice.Last year my wife and i stayed at a La Quinta motel in Texas that looked ok on the picture from the net,but when we got are room it must have been a misprint .It smelled like a sewer and had unidentifiable stains all over the carpet.The worst part was when i went to get up and take a leak in the middle of the night and i stepped on a cockroach...

The LaQuinta beds are amazing...soft and comfy. Old farts (like me) like 'em!

They were workin' on it while we were there. We stayed in a room that wasn't quite finished because they didn't want to send us down the road.
I guess someone there must really like us.

 

Animal, will you be bringing your teenage fan club with you to Joplin this summer?

 

I wonder if a fella could get a Hamb Drag set up at the Arkansas City {ARK CITY}drag strip? I hear they reopened,they have Plenty of shutdown area, new tree and lights,all around better setup than Mokan.....last I knew they didnt have lights to run at night though.

 

I think Ryan talked to several tracks when the first Hamb drags was discussed. Ark City may have not been open then, but there are a lot of tracks that were way too expensive or didn't want to deal with us.

Carl has been very good to the hamb and we try to remember that.

 

The extra lighting in the lot will be a bonus. I almost lost my beer 3 times last year in the dark!

WOW, Animal is setting up a car wash at the hotel this year?

With all the new lights, are they also adding extra restrooms accessible from outside? Not sure the beer was the only thing flowing outside last year, if ya get my drift. Some of ya all might get embarassed if there was more lights in the lot. Speaking of bare ass, seems there was some of that going on too, or was the the year before......
