Remember my thread "OLD "field find" iron here in South Africa..."? :
    http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=182311

Day before yesterday I spent about 5 hours there browsing for parts I could use on my 34 Chevy sedan project and on my 54 Bel-Air project.

I came home with the equivalent of about $215 in parts. Now for us here that's a fair amount of money but then again I got quite a few parts. I must also add that some of it I just bought without knowing what it's from because I think it would look cool on the '34.

    1. An inside rear window trim for the '34.
    2. A 39 Chevy headlight bucket. This will become the air-filter "scoop" on the '34's carb.
    3. Two unknown headlight buckets - Please help me ID these. I included a close-up of the bucket rim.
    4. A grill shell - Please help me ID this grill shell.
    5. 47/48 Chrysler bumper guards. There are two more I need to go and fetch. These will become the grill teeth on my '54.
    6. Two pairs of coil springs. One pair of these will go into the rear of my '34.
    7. A complete 1938 Ford front axle setup (not shown). This axle's drums and spindles are still free moving!
    8. A 56/57 10-bolt rear end, also with drums still free moving.

Thanks, but not Packard. As people give suggestions I'll go and confirm. The attached pic is what the early Packards look like.

The grille shell also has similarities to the early Willys grilles but it's not that either.

    Anyone with any other ideas?

I was wrong! This grill shell is actually from a 1927 Willys-Knight.

Now how's that for finding such an item in this part of the world???

Nice. Hope all is well in your land. I like the idea of the bumper guards for teeth!
