Does anyone have info on the ZZ383 425 crate engine, dyno results, 1-4 mile times with combinations rear end gear ratio, tire size, trans., ect. I don't need to know about olds engines or other bull!If you have built a 383 that puts out 425 hp or more with less than 10 to 1 compression for less than 5,000 dollars by using all new parts, post your combination, parts used, specs! If you havent had your motor dynoed dont bother, I need facts not a estimate!

A friend of mine runs a ZZ383 in his '55 Delray.
The car goes 11.9 with 4.10 gears, picking up a frontwheel.
325-50/15 MT ET street radial tires
The engine likes pumpgas and is very streetable!

  4. check out Hot Rod magazine.
They have done extensive coverage /testing of this engine.

  5. The current issue of Popular Hot Rodding has an article on a ZZ4 (350 355hp) that they take to over 400hp and there is a list of parts.
