Bucket T was originally performed by Jan & Dean. I believe Ronnie & The Daytonas covered it a couple years later. Kieth Moon was a big fan of surf music so it wouldn't surpise me if The Who also covered it.

Druss32... you nailed it with Primus and Cake, great songs! Chris57...One Piece At a Time-Johnny Cash, wow, another great one.
What about the opening to "Gone in 60 Seconds" (new one)...the opening credits with all that cool stuff and that song...Bring Sally Up....lalala. That will always make we want to put my foot through the floorboard. Damn...thats just too cool!

  5. "Chopped down and hopped up" by the same band. Pretty much anything by "hotrod"Walt and the psycho Devilles.

  16. Wow... I thought this thread looked familiar... One year old...

With that said and without reading the last page, I am going to add "Customized" by The Cramps

  17. Galaxie 5 - Oh - Oh (hahaha) I love that song!

The only part that always bugs me is is when he mentions the Dart Swinger, 1973, top down. The didn't make convertible that year. Pisses my wife off everytime I point that out to her. Maybe that's why I keep ponting it out to her (hehe).

  22. Just read thru 18 pages of thread. Just got home from watching a friend's band; this seemed like the thing to read...

The Ministry song came to mind; somebody beat me to that; Primus and Dead Milkmen songs are classics, too. Those would be up there, along with "Arrested For Driving While Blind" and "She Loves My Automobile" by Billy Frank and Dusty.

Of course, my first concert was at twelve years old; saw those guys touring for the Deguello album at the Colloseum in Seattle in 1979. So I may be biased...

    Honorable Mention:

"Little Blue Dune Buggy" by the Presidents of the United States of America (really funny lyrics),

and although the original was an instrumental, but the Blues Brothers' cover (check the names of some of the guys in the band against the roster of the MG's) makes reference to the Chrysler 440:
And there's also a song the local rockabilly show ends with every Friday - it's not a car song, but the guitarist featured is a HAMB member, so I'll give it props: "Ain't Got All Night" by the Twistin' Tarantulas.
