Reman SBC short block????

Anybody got a lead, price, etc. on a reman. SBC short block ('97 5.7 SFI)? My Tahoe died

Or a complete rebuild kit? Who's the Perfect Circle guy on here?

6 2's on a 327 would kick ass in that Tahoe.

Drop it 5 inches & throw the hood away.

I'm thinkin put a F-O-R-D in it. It will run a lot better

 

Pace is the one in Ohio. Don't remember what the rest of it is
though cause its permanently burned into my brain as Pace Pontiac...

Damned late model computer controlled POS!! 16 pickups to remove and tag JUST to get the intake off. AAARGH!!

Best price so far is Jasper at $1099 By the time I find someone decent to do the block and crank (if that's possible in this town) and buy the rebuild kit, I wonder if I would even be ahead? This SUCKS!

Jim Keras charged my mother damn near that much ($600) for a water pump on her Siverado.

I've taken the Pace catalog to Tom Morrick Chevrolet in Ashdown, AR before and they matched the prices. Maybe Bill Heard would do it.
