  1. You roll on slicks? And you think cell phones are dangerous? Some of you people are so hypocritical. I beak all sorts of laws, I speed, I talk on my phone, I hardly ever have a legal inspection, I've rolled on slicks, open exhaust, I've probably even been talking on the phone, with open slicks, looking at porn, yankin my crank, while eating a cheeseburger and speeding with no tail lights.

Am I cool? Fuck no, I'm stupid, but at least I admit it.

Read your own post Man, I was commenting that it IS A LAW where you live, but still snub yer nose at it.

They dont enforce it cus no one floows it and the pernctile out weighs the cops per square mile.

ill admit to it, And i still think its stupid & unsafe..... Maybe it will be the death of me ... hope not so i can still come here and stir up blood levels of the Yuppie age :p

  3. Most of the time my primary transportation is my Harley (truck is in build). As open and exposed as we are it's literaly life-or-death every second. I'm f-ing sick of everything being regulated by "the-man". Make your own f-ing decisions but be prepared to deal with the consiquences. That's the biggest f-ing issue in my opinion. Everyone is so sheltered and priviledged that no one takes responsibility for themselves. Respect is dead.

That said, you hurt me or mine while talking or texting on your phone or whatever I'll f-ing go to prison for beating the sh!t out of you with it.

    Ok, I feel better now...

    WELL SAID !!

And now i will leave cus it dont matter how stupid it is .... Some one will always have a better answer or reason for doing stupid shit.

  5. Of course I snub my nose to it. I take the risks and I will suffer the consequenses (I know that's spelled wrong, I spent too much time on the phone to learn proper spelling). My problem is all the fools on here that act like I'm such an idiot for talking on my phone, yet they do it, and break a million other laws while they are at it. If I rearend you, it has nothing to do with my phone. I am probably day dreaming, or staring at somebody driving next to me, or checking out their car, or some other stupid reason.

  6. I ride every day during spring summer and fall. It's dangerous, as you said it's literally life or death. I like to make my own decisions on what's safe for me and what's not. My question to you is, will you beat the shit out of someone if they hurt you or yours if they were speeding? How about eating a sandwhich? Putting on makeup? The phone is not really the problem, the problem is dumb ass people all the way around.

  7. What I'm saying is take responsibility for yourself and what you do. Regardless of what that is. If we don't do it ourselves the lawyers and gov't will do it for us. And charge us handsomely to do it.

This is a no win debate. I'll bow out now. Respect.

Funny, you keep describing these "so and so almost hit me" scenarios like they happen to you every day. That doesnt happen to me... I guess all the people around you must just be worse drivers or something.

Couldn't be the one common denominator in all of these situations. You.

My gripe is that people who drive like idiots piss me off. I could give a shit if they were on a cell phone or not.

I took my honda from 116k to 204k last year. I drive a lot, In southern and northern California. I see a lot of drivers do a lot of stupid things, and I haven't seen anything that suggests to me that cellphones in particular had anything to do with it.

Want to talk about a distraction? How about those TV screens that flip out of your head unit. You can't tell me you can drive along while the guy in the pass seat is watching a movie and not watch too.

    Pussy :eek::eek::D

LMAO..... call it as you see it.... :D

I have a bluetooth headset, I use it to answer calls in the car, right now I have a hour commute each way... I see a big difference between using a handset and handsfree... though my calls don't last long, I hate the phone, I do not like long calls, I answer and get off quickly...

Now let's see if it's enforced.
You could double the staff of the traffic cops and you still wouldn't catch them all.

It's a law here in Dallas Tx. that the left lane is for passing only. If you're approached from the rear in the left lane, you have to move over... I've never seen it enforced so what good does it do?

  13. Texticles, that's something else you could call them. I don't have any issues with this law... I don't own a cell phone, I like the idea of being able to go away and not have anyone be able to get a hold of me. Then again I grew up in the age when if you were away from home and needed to make a call to someone you used a pay phone - try to find one of those bastards now.

The best sticker I saw about this the other day said "you're driving a CAR, not a PHONE BOOTH" ... unless you're driving a Model T coupe or truck, I guess, it's always going to be true.

Cell phone drivers are at the top of my shit list for asshole driving, tied for first place with the assholes who have to zoom right up to the end of the lane where a construction zone narrows a road from two lanes to one, then cut off 25 people to get in line. Those pricks, it should be legal to shoot at.

I'm sure that there are some people who can talk on the phone and drive at the same time - it's just that there are too many idiots who can barely manage to drive as it is, and they can't handle the distraction. This law gives the cops one more thing to ticket you with and one more reason to pull people over. I think most of the time the tickets will get handed out after the accident, but it should at least make it easier to prove fault when one of these clowns does hit you.

I think under 18 or student drivers shouldn't be able to use a cell phone while driving, at all, though. That accident here in New York, 5 teenage girls got killed when the driver, on her permit, crossed the center line and hit a truck head on. They proved her phone was getting and sending text messages in the seconds before the crash, but couldn't prove who was using it. Just who needs a distraction when driving, a carload of teenage girls - I never see a guy pass me doing 90 with a phone in the ear cutting people off without looking.

I really think that it is you that is not looking at the big picture. Sure, there are people that drive bad with cell phones in there hand. Just like there are people that drive bad while they are eating, yelling at their kids, etc. etc. etc.

But guess what, the government can't protect you from all of the risks in your life. They're sure trying, though, with seatbelt laws, helmet laws, smoking laws etc etc etc. But think about the slippery slope, the big picture, that those laws are leading towards.

Hot rods with outdated steering, brakes and suspension don't handle as well as modern cars are capable of handling, and accidents are caused because of it. Driving would be safer if hot rods were not on the road. Let's ban all hot rods so that the streets will be safer.

I know you'll probably type something in all caps about how stupid that is, or it could never happen, but it's the same line of thinking that you are taking about cell phones. Just because some people can't talk and drive at the same time doesn't mean it should be against the law for all of us. Just like old cars shouldn't be banned because some people build unsafe "rat rods".
