did you take that picture in my brain? I'll be making something like that in the future, both in solidworks then the real thing, but i didnt plan on z'ing the front. nice work though
yes i am going to build some , just a matter of time, probably somewhere around 2200 for a perimeter frame witha trick suicide spring perch
Just a suggestion... I wouldn't put a port right at the "knuckles/bends" of that rear Z'd section. Use COSMO works (since you have SolidWorks) and look at the stresses in that area. Just my $.02... Also, are you pinching these frames? Custom dimensions to customer's specs? What wall thickness and are the ports filled? What suspension? Etc. etc...
I just modeled a frame in Pro-E the other dat too. I just did it to figure some angles and heights though. Very nice work with the holes.
Didn't realize you could get it in 11 ga, that's why I asked. Thought .125" wall was typical. Just curious. Not trying to beat ya' up or anything.
well, 11ga youre talking like .120 - .125 , so really its the same thing to the naked eye, until you mic it.,,,DCR
I'm gonna jump in here. I just had DC make me a set of boxed model A frame rails. I am very pleased with them. Everything is straight and where it should be. Today we mocked them up and they look killer! Welcome to the HAMB DC!
I'll post some pics next week, but it's gonna look good. Frame is nice and strong, I have no doubt it'll handle the hemi.
