I've worked out a nice trade deal with Dave at Dave's Muffler here in sonoma...He's completely rebuilding and bagging the chassis on my '62 Ford shop wagon, and I'm flaming his '62 Caddy in Pagan Gold candy 'Flake and pearl copper. He brings it by every thursday and I do a panel. I call him as I'm tearing the paper off and he drives it home while it's still tacky! Thanks for doing such a great job on the wagon Dave, how 'bout throwin' some new duals with an "H" pipe and some cut-outs on it since you're under there anyway?! This is the roof...almost a whole gallon of 2042, and the inside of my garage looks like a disco now...
Hey Conder, thats amazing, My club just gave Dave the "Big Flake" metalflake award at the BilletProof show this weekend. I asked him who did his top and he said Conder in Sonoma and here you are! Killer job, ask him to bring his trophy by next time! Ki
Conder, love the flames they look just like your sketches and drawing a nice unique style. keep it up!
Thanks Abe and everybody! So Dave won that huh? COOL. That trophies crazy! It kind of matches the car... That cad's gonna burn man, he's putting skylark wires on it with pinstripe whitewalls next. If you want to see the plans for the car just go to http://www.condercustom.com and click on current work. - Thanks again
Big thanks folks...I'm always looking for more work, those two "Good lookin' kids" are eatin' me outta house and home! p.s. ...ah, let's forget that "dingy" thing ever happened Kieth. I'm running for senator next year...
Those flames are quite different. Awesome work! Looking for more work eh? I've got a '62 stationwagon where I want to roof flaked in deep red and I've got a '60 Chrysler where I want a light greenish lace-job put on. How about a nice 'vacation' to the Netherlands? Cool stuff.
...from the pictures it doesn't look like their getting much of the food your buying in their mouths ...so how about giving us low-lifes a metal flake tech -marty
This Caddy job is pretty cool... * The car is a driver. Windows stay in it, only minimal disassembly. * Dave traded with a semi-retired pro body and paint guy to straighten the car, prime, block and spray it copper. * This guy also wet sands the panel I'm about to 'flake and flame, then Dave drives it to my shop. * I do my thing, then he picks it up and drives it all week until next time. The lower body is next and it'll be a reverse of the top...copper base, gold 'flake flames etc. Dave's paint man will be spraying most of the clear on the body and wet sanding everything, as well as cutting and polishing the final clear. Dave is looking for Skylark wires (real or re-pop) and loves to trade. He's got some cool junk...Dave's Muffler and Brake (707) 939-1256 My garage is set up for motorcycles and is only 16 x 16 feet, but we have a deal with a local collision shop for big jobs. I'd love to do more of this type of work but be warned, I only use the best paint and my shop rate is 85 an hour. Trades with businesses are labor rate for labor rate, plus materials. Thanks again for the compliments and if you're serious about work give me a call. (707) 843-9454 - Tim
