Makes me wish I was retired so I could have time to tackle something like that. Hopefully after working 12-16 hours a day for 30+ years I can stand up straight enough to do something like that.

'bout time this one resurfaced, as I was wondering if there was any progress. Much too cool to let it die. Please keep the updates coming we're sitting on the edge of our seats.

LOVE IT! diggin the peaked roof!

  6. Just a thought, and probably too late, but how about using a 7" hi-lo headlight in the outer location and keep the 5 3/4" in the inner? It would exaggerate/accentuate the teardrop shape a bunch. Might look good.

After My trip to Larry Watson's I think I will call this Monster The "Sonic Needle" after the Busonic and Larry's query of how much LSD I took to think up the car. Doc

That was my first thought too - "I hope it wasn't nice to start with". I've been looking for a decent Camino for a while (for less than a large fortune) and they're getting hard to find. Just tell me that it was a pile to start with and I'll be OK. Edit: I finally read through the rest of the thread and see that it was a pile to start with; I wholeheartedly approve.

Doc, have been a fan of your twisted way of thinking since I first signed on the board and saw the truck in your avitar.

The elky looks great, I like the fact you left the top stock height. Looking forward to updates.

    Love your work,

It's funny you know i am building a similar concept down here in oz. I stopped telling people about it because i got sick of the ridicule. It's amazing what 5 years will do.

Good to see the hard work and the fact you are doing something different being appretiated. Keep up the good work.

This turned out to be a way cooler project than I first thought from reading the name of the thread. The rear looks killer.

Progress has been slow but here are a few shots of how it's going, firewall, Pass cowl, pass door and jamb, and roof all in primer, rear end upper control arm cut and rewelded for the right angle, and new shock brackets welded in so the air shocks( can't afford bags) won't be seen, as the chrome shocks go in the stock location. Today We pushed the Sonic Needle out into the light of day, I got the nose primed and have started painting the firewall, as You can see the axle and hair pins are back from the chrome shop. Von Doc

Man, the side profile kicks ass! Thats a well done, totally unique ride. Its far better when seen than explained. It's hard to think that direction when talking camino's. Keep us posted!
