Thanx Bro, Its a 51 Cadillac cut down to fit. I also cut out the openings and hand built the taillight buckets and lenses as well as frenched in the license plate and opened up for my exhaust tips (not installed yet)
Looks killer! That bumper fits like it grew there...you do fantastic work! The exhaust will look awesome through there, too!
I DONT WANT TO HIJACK THIS KILLER THREAD, BUT THOUGHT YOU COULD HELP!! I posted a thread regardiNg this, but decided I'd ask some 49 - 54 family members ... what did you guys do with your heaters (those huge tubes on the passenger side with the heater core in them?) Block them off? Keep them around? Put in a smaller after market setup? Thanks for the help!
I ditched my heater tube and crotch cooler ducts. If you can re-use your heater core, and you have a small block or keeping the I-6, it would be worth keeping. Otherwise, look for a heater box you can mount on the firewall under the dash. There are literally hundreds of useable kinds that can usually be found @ swap meets pretty cheap. If you plan to put A/C in the car, most aftermarket A/C evaporators nowadays include a heater as part of the unit.
Thanks Slide - I'll keep an eye out - unfortunately there are very few swap meets around here that I know of. Now that aftermarket A/C with the heater included though ... now you're talkin'.
Found this one on Ebay today. I have never seen one with the rear fenders "rounded" out wheel wells. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1953-Chevrolet-Bel-Air-Hot-Rod_W0QQitemZ330018103085
This is my '51. It's in the garage now with the suspension all apart. (looks better in the picture that it is)
Here is my new project..... I do not have photoshop, but I used some ghetto program at work to mess around
