im at the point of antennas but cant make up my mind on how many and were to put them..can you guys and gals post pics of your frenched antennas..(50's style please)..thanks
The best place visually is on a vertically curved surface, (like at the upper portion of a fender before it flattens out). That way the opening is a nice "oval" shape, rather than just a round hole like you get if you french into a horizontal surface.
My Father inlaw had a 57 Fairlane with dual frenched antennaes in the RF fender favoring the top of the radius where it curves downward into the side, near the end of the cowl. As mentioned this provided nice egg shaped holes and they were also finished off with french scrolls made out of small roundstock and then blended in with filler. Looked real nice. Steve
