this thing is cool. its worth seeing and reading about if you can put up with the birkenstock green talk.

I've kicked this idea around for awhile but always get shot down:mad:
I guess when it's not a choice anymore because of govt. regs, these guys will be on the forefront...

The Lambo didn't know how to launch, and that Impala is lucky it wasn't a 1500 foot track.

    Still a neat car though

i seem to recall there was a diesel powered Indy race car back in the 50s or 60s. Put the whole field down a couple laps before it broke. There is a guy in town with a dually P/U that has Nox & propane injection, & turbo. Can beat Mustangs on the 1/8 mile track.

  7. My son is talking about building a 600-800 horse Cummin's diesel to replace the straight eight in his 48 Buick Roadmaster sedanette and get 25-27 mpg highway. my first thought was he's nuts! that was also my second thought!

If my memory is correct Didn't Audi win due to the better fuel mileage?

Gas mileage helped, but I think having an amazingly well-engineered, and well sorted car helped alot more. Gas mileage was their main reason for switching to diesel though.

ok then my memory is slightly better than i thought. BTW I didn't mean for it to sound like they won only cuz of the diesel. Its also colored pretty.
