I just got home with my new old man's car!! I have wanted a caddy for awhile now...even bought one last year that burned nefore it got here. So I got lucky and picked up this 55 coupe about an hour and a half from home. Went straight to the upholstery shop on the way home from Auburn for new seats and headliner. Gonna pretty much keep it stock...just a tad lower! Thanks studhud...AKA dave!

I like stock when it was done right. That Caddy certainly was.

It was what a lot of customs wanted to be in the day... so it doesn't really need it...

Best part was driving it home ...70-75 mph cruising in the fast lane and barely feeling the bumps...yep I'm getting old!!!

Sometimes cars that are customized and 'improved upon' only destroy their looks. You can't complain about the looks of that car in stock form. They look killer already. Nice score!

    That about sums it up.

There are some nice custom caddies out there, but they don't NEED anything.

    Enjoy it! She's a beauty.

Man that's awesome= EXACTLY the car I would like to have. Lowered with some upholstery is all I would do as well. Maybe some cool dress-up on the engine too.

SCORE!!! Change very little, I think you already realize this. Everyone should own a Caddy at least once in their life and you've just bought a gem. Nothing wrong with getting old, sure beats the alternative and your only as old as you feel.

  16. Great car Bewsir. I agree some altitude adjustment and that is all it needs. Driving it to Paso?

  17. Just like in the today, they didn't need much then either. this '54 was hand rubbed black lacquer, white tuck&roll mild shave and a dump in '64-'65

got carried away. the plum crazy eldo was 67-68
the 53 cdv eldo dual quads was about '90-'91

Hey Brewsir what did you decide on for the interior? That is a sweet car cant wait to see it in paso slammed down a bit. I know what your saying about the old man car that is why my 48 pontiac is basically stock it would be hard to improve it. Take care of it LTR Dave

Oh man, I was just droolin over one of these (coulda been a '56) on the weekend and was thinkin the same thing. Stock with a little lowering would be absolutely perfect. Great car by the way.

Its amazing how the older you get, the better a stock or slightly modified car seems very nice!

Dammit Boy!!!! That sweet '55 sure brings back memories. I had a red '55 coupe de ville in the mid '60s, w/all options. They were probably one of the greatest Caddies there were. Yeah, you wanna leave that one stock. ( My girlfriend @ the time, left her virginity in the backseat of that Caddy. Nuthin' but the best for my women) Man, I wish I could score on one today. Enjoy.....Ole Pork

    Beautiful car!!! Keep her stock.

I went back and forth with that decision on mine and finally decided to keep her stock as well.

Nothing rides like a "Classic" Cadillac!

    Enjoy It.
