Chroming in Northern Illinois

Wondering if anyone could recommend, or has, a shop that does chrome plating. I'm asking for a freind of mine who is restoring his Trimuph. We are in northern Illinois, however the pieces can be shipped and I'd rather have a HAMB'r get the business or at least get an honest recommendation. He's willing to pay a fair price, just doesn't want to get bent over. Basically tring to avoid disappointments and yes men who can't deliver. He's not looking for an immeadiate turn around either.

Well I dont know if this will help. I had plating done a year ago
at Streamwood Plating at 1545 Brandy Parkway, Streamwood, Il.northwest burbs .312-830-6363
I was happy with the look and turn around around time. NOW here it comes I heard it has been sold so I really can't tell you about quality or turn around time. May want to try some small parts first.

Custom Plating Specialists in Brillion, Wisconsin do fantastic work. They're especially good at fixing pitted pot metal, which seems to be the thing that shitty plating shops avoid. Arlington Plating in Palatine. Don't know the number off the top of my head.

 

Just don`t go to John`s? Metal Finishing on Ogden in Chicago....brought a pair of bumpers there 3 years ago....and have still yet to get them back!!!!!
