Square hole window crank

I have mistakenly purchased the wrong window cranks and handles for my 48 Chevy Fleetline. My car requires a splined type (Like the top one) but the handles I bought have a square hole . Any idea what there are for? Chevy Truck maybe?

 

Ford and Mopar used square shafts.

 

any ideas to what year the square crank is from?

 

I think it's pre 48 on Fords. Maybe 49 because they have some odd stuff like that...

I think you mean pre 49 since 48 Fords have the same square mount as pre 48. Also Mercs 49-50 are square mount.

 

Flippit over--the backside of knob visible looks rather like 6A Ford part, 1947 and 1948.

Here is the other side. The bottom one has the square hole. Looks like yall are in an agreement its pre 49 Ford

 

Hmmm...t'aint '48 Ford after all, or I think earlier. Truck?? 1949??

 

The cranks on my '39 Chevy truck were square drive, but the knobs on mine were different.
