Ok... after playing with a sharpy and some vellum for the last couple of months, My little bro asked me to stripe his guitar, I was reluctant to do it, cause I was really unsure. But take a look and give me some criticism, good or bad.

    Thanks fellas!

Update... Did the red some some suggested. I'm really diggin this, although it didn't come out like I wanted it to. I think it's because of the assymetrical layout. Take a look!

  2. I know nothing about how to stripe, but I would say I couldent do that my 50th time around let alone my 1st. Keep practicing and you can come and stripe my car!:D

Well, for being a first-timer, it looks pretty good. That style works well with the guitar. Keep it up!

  4. Looks Good! Now add some light blue. I've been wanting to try it myself. The sharpie idea is a good one.Art supply stores sell the ones with paint in 'em. All you gotta do is try. What do they say,"One you get past the smell, you got it licked". I'm off to look for a Sharpie.

I'm with the others. Looks great!

It's not as easy as it looks, huh? I got into it a couple years ago and then got crazy-busy. I haven't picked up a brush since.

This might be a well-known tip, but I practiced on a spare storm-window pane. I was easy to clean up if I made a mistake and once it was dry, I could use a razor blade and scrape it off and start all over again.

    Keep it up!

I'd love to tell you how fucked up it looks, but I'd be lying. I dig it.
Get busy with a second color and post more pictures!

    Looks great.

I'm not sure how much I like the large eyelet, but you nailed the striping.

Just keep practicing. Im not the best but you will keep getting a better feel for it and knowing how to connect. Sometimes it just takes a little touching up on the tips after you pull the line. Looks great for your first. wish mine woulda looked that good. Im still scared to stripe my guitar but youve givin me inspiration.
