Me and a buddy were out junkyarding this weekend and stumbled on this tube axle. The tube diameter is 2 1/4" and measures 48" from the center of one kingpin to the center of the other kingpin. Any one have any idea what this might have come off of or if it's some aftermarket axle? tube axle1 tube axle tube axle3 tube axle4 tube axle2
you cannot direct link to pics ON your computer... you need to upload them to the HAMB or to a photo hosting website then link them here
Thanks for posting those pics Wrench Bender, as you know I'm computer illeritate. Thanks guys for the help identifying this axle.
That Ones A Plymouth ..... They Arent Ugly .. Was Gonna Run One In My Daughters "t" But The Machinest At Work Screwed It Up !! If Ya Open The King Pin Holes For Ford Pins.... Ford Spindles Go Right On With A Lil Clearancing On The Spindle For Axle Clearance ... They Even Have The Correct King Pin Angle ...
Looks like my 37 plymouth axle. Could be more specific with measurements from center of spring pad to center of spring pad
hey,,, worst case scenario you have to take the axle and spindles to a machine shop and have a set of kingpins made to fit... seems to me that the ford kingpins would slide right in if you made the changes to use the ford spindles
I'd like to keep the original spindles. Anyone know the actual specs for kingpins (material, hardness, heat treat specs)?
