That's how I remember it.

It was a little freaky seeing that white 1960 Bel air hard top in the last race. I had the identical looking car only with a 6cyl PG. (what a turd) Bel Air HTs are kinda rare.

I wonder where that chopped 3W is today?

 

I was at Island on Sunday, hasn't changed much since 62!

 

Damn that was cool! My dad loved it, he used to go there all the time around that time. He jokingly said he saw himself walking in the background. He would have been a high school senior at the time.

 

Yeah i went there a couple times the track looks the same except now it has a Electric tree instead of a flag man...Lol My Dad used to race his car there all of the time too back in the mid 60's ...thanks for sharing the video it was great.....

Brings back memories. Graduated in '62 and was at some kind of drag strip every weekend (except during the winter, spent that time building) until about '78/'79. Definitly "the good old days".
