    Anybody know when or what started the trend of punching louvers in hot rods?

    This may have already been addressed here in the past, but couldn't find anything on a search.

    They just look good and are functional, and in use on race cars for well over a 100 years.

    Louvres are designed to let air out,Basically the idea is with a stripped out car air will get in and slow you down but if you have somewhere the air can be let out it will slow you down less..............Marq

    Dont know for sure, but I can do them here in southestern Virginia
