I've been thinking about a way to shorten the wheelbase on a Model A to build a speedster.

I know you can shorten the driveshaft but what about keeping the stock rear control arms?

Can you chop them down 8-12"s and bend them to meet in the middle again? Does that kill the suspension geometry?

Model A rear radius rods are quite wimpy. Heat up the flat where it mounts on the rear end and bend it to whatever you want

It won’t mess up the geometry. Actually, the real strength of a stock Ford rear suspension is in the torquetube. The wishbones are just to add a bit more stability.
