It's great to hear of your exploits, as well as viewing your excellent and impressive skills as an auto craftsman. Awesome work on the 5 window coupe. I especially enjoyed your thread on the P51 roadster. Is that it still in your garage, or did you let it go?

By the way, I have a neice (Rachel Romatz Palmer) who lives and teaches school in Billund? , Denmark. She has been there for 5 years or so. Her husband is Donnie Palmer, and they have 3 teens.

    Hello
Sunday morning when write this. Last night we arrived back home. 5.30 morning we started from my place.
Tarmo, my friend, drive my F-150 pick up and I drive roadster. +300km to Big Wheels car meeting.
Morning was nice to drive, not too hot. Later evening it was more hot, but we arrived home before midnight.
100-110km/h (approx. 65mph) was good travelling speed and enjoy roads between lakes and little up and down.....

That was important for me that Tarmo helped me and I had chance to enjoy driving hot rod.
Normally my hot rod driving is more here in the city area, when pick up stuff from wholesale and carry to our coffee/Ice-cream trailer in market area. Very much cars, maybe too much. We queue 1.5hours to get in....
We have here warm period... too hot for man who lives here in North.... I had one pop up canopy , that helps alot.

Now not time to built hot rods. I paid FIA/FHRA drag race lisence and made registeration to Kalajoki drag racing Finnish Championship competition nr.3. Its from 1st to 3rd of August. Kalajoki beach is place where I lived after CA years and also when I was Young. We need to install extra airbags in my pick up rear axle, we need to remove GS buick exhaust tubes, change 28 x 10.5 -15 slicks under car,... and many many things. Crew Chief Oskar and his 14y - 15y old friends are my mechanics there..... "New Generation".

    TOP 5 trophy.

  6. Is there anything that you can not do, or attempt to do? Your talent and skill seem endless. You have more patience than anyone that I know. Congratulations. You don't seem to let anything stop you. It may slow you down for a while, but you seem to think and solve your problems.

    Thank You Sirs.
Nothing special, just interested in try and spend time with cars.
Good that have inspiration and "picture"/visio what car will look after built. That helps very much.

I still have so much ideas, maybe built more hot rods. Next I want to built custom or my 1955 cameo carrier.
OK that car will be more like original with few custom tricks.
Custom can be anything from 1940 mercury/ford to early 60´s coupe (caddy, buick.....)

We still have very warm weather here. I drive daily this 5w coupe and try to learn her "philosophy".

    Thank You everybody !

    Hello
We are in Kalajoki Beach racing Finnish Championship competition. Same time they have near hear custom&rod meeting, where we have visit too when racingday is over.
Its Sunday Morning. It was some kind of short hurricane (wind, water) after very very warm day. We try to keep our small popup -tent on ground.... My historical vehicle registered GS Buick is running like bracket car. Greg Gessler and Carmen Fasco have made that car engine, tranny +12y ago in US. It´s technical NHRA Stock car, but index is so tight that it never runs under index....so I choose Pro ET class. 6th qualification round I jump to 1st spot. Oskar set index to 8.09 and I drive it (8.0900sec). Long tree is little intricate, I have race only 80´s and last Finnish Championship finals that long tree...

Yes, we have 2 hot rod, 3 honda monkey in pit. Boys are intrested and looks that they like this.
I think we have 14 cars in field, so I have 1st round solo. Old man & buick get little time to adjust to race.

Sorry, no winner this time.... No solo runs. I was winner 1st and 2nd round but in semifinal I broke my index 0,06sec.... Oskar is working there very much, he analyze timecard info.... he will be ready year 2026 when he is 15y old and can race all EDRS Summit Racing serie. Next springtime he need to make FIA/NHRA license test and drive 5-6 starts.

That was nice 4days vacation with Young boys -> "new generation"

Last weekend I watched European Championship Drag Racing competition. Free Livestream works fine.
Same time I pieced Harman Collins magneto and changed new coil which I bought from Cirello Magnetos, CA. Here in Finland coiled one had approx. 6.3 kiloOhms resistance. US coiled one has 15.4kiloOhm resistance !!!
Now I have very heavy spark when turn magneto by hand.

I made leakdown test some cylinder. Nr 5 = 90% leakdown. Valve locks are opened.... Never happened like that.... Maybe that cam has too much lift?, need to check. I can change another cam.

7dec valvelocks and valve quide c-clip were opened (Cyl.nr 5)
    I cant explain better.

OK, engine is not good anyway. I bought from North-Carolina ready shortblocks (2pc) and both are
now need to rebuilt. This engine is smoke, not enough oilpressure.... Crank is grinded from 4" merc -> Eccentric 2" so stroke is now 4 1/8".

I have brand new Scat 4 1/4" stroke & big bore set internal balanced on stock, I use that.
    Maybe today I measure cylinders....

    AH

I dont know what You mean Muddying-Up thread, but I can say that I can fix everything and God Bless Im not bolt on Street rod man. If something is not work, that is not big deal in my life. I open, make machineryjobs and try again.

I have been following your build and it's very nice. One question I had is are the firewall and gas tank a different color than the body? I may have missed it if that was pointed out. I can't tell for sure in some of the pictures posted but it looks like they are different. Keep up the good work!

In racing we have talked "VALVE LOCKS", somebody can say keepers, maybe that is better, but if check from summit racing "chevy 7decree valve locks" they use that word. I dont care, I like practical function not speculate thinks.

Just measured cylinders. I really not know what they have done in North-Carolina. Cylinders are not round. Old bore and seller has try to fix cylinders with hone. Cylinders are horizontal OK dimensions. Maybe one or two hundreds of mm (1/100mm - 2/100mm) to much clearance. all cylinders are vertical too big. 5-7/100 mm more clearance than horizontal. We have never seen so shit machinery jobs. We dont know how they have done all shit. Now I understand why everywhere full of black shit (chamber, valves, pistons...) cylinders are not round --> oil comes up ....

Everywhere full of black shit (oil). If I drived low RPM, no smoke. If little more RPM, blue smoke which smells oil...
I havent removed crank etc. No oilpressure when warm. I suppose they have 4-5/100mm too much clearance there too... What we learn from this? Never buy ready shortblocks. Easy to send shit long away. Another shortblock I bought him, I sold to Finland --> You know what buyer has talked behind me...

Thursday I piece all engine, wash block and check if possible to save something.

Based on the look of head, one cylinder never fired - no carbon
