  1. Love the build Marty! I have the same hammer made from my little league bat from my grade school days.

You ruined a family heirloom, good for you. When I played little league, I was a horrible player, too busy watching the cars drive by, and dreaming. I have 3 different sizes, of modified wooden bats, buy them when I find them.

I've found fairly decent wood bats at thrift stores.

A lot of them have a concave scooped out of the end of the barrel. I have a few candidates to modify

I'm guessing that the wood spring spacer is a temporary stand-in...

I was thinking of doing something similar for my RPU with the tonneau cover frame, and here you had a great example. Looks great! Do the rails bolt through the stake pockets or directly to the box sides?

This looks like it’s going to be awesome! To be honest, I’m joining this party way late, so I’ve only seen the first and last page. Looks like it became required reading though. Excellent work @Marty Strode

My box sides had existing holes. So I used them with large diameter nylon spacers between.

Jim Steven’s. The bottom shot is early with a 289. Great car , especially when it had an injected Boss 302 !
