Event Coverage LLOYDFEST III.... SEPTEMBER 5TH-7TH 2025

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Lloyd's paint & glass, Jan 6, 2025.

  1. HELL, Stubby gets that kind of mileage too.....When he is in the trailer riding behind the dually! LOL

Getting excited, but not sure if I am bringing Stubby or maybe a surprise for Laura. I should know today or tomorrow if I can make the deal, it might be in the trailer when we arrive (she will think Stubby is in there). Still not sure, but would make a cool surprise for her. HINT.....If the deal happens she won't have to dye her hair blonde, because this one is Red not White like Suzanne's was!:p

    God Bless

Been at it, ordered shirts today. Got a poker run laid out for Saturday morning. $100 to the winner. After we're back at the park, each hamb member will recieve a scavenger hunt list, it's all car related stuff, you'll have all day to see who can come up with the most. Winner will get $100. There's awards this year, but you're the judges, you'll vote on each category. We'll cookout all day, give out door prizes, valve cover battle, and a live band. Plus I'll see what else I can come up with. Hope to see everybody! I'll be around all day on Friday if anybody shows up early, and we'll hang out all evening! Don't forget to bring any swap meet stuff that you are tired of tripping over!

Last year we went out to eat Thursday night if I remember correctly or was it Friday night? Anyway, any chance of that this year for those that get there early? Sa me place as last year would be fine.
I've been working on making a trailer hitch for my '40 Coupe. I will be able to tow a scooter trailer so I can take my mobility scooter to car shows, etc. It's small enough that I can haul it on the car trailer with the '40 for trips like Lloydfest. See you all soon. Ron

  9. Sounds great Brother! You know when we will arrive. I can’t wait! This is my favorite event of the year with BG a close second. Can we have a category for biggest transformation since last year? Hehehe!!

  10. Thank you so much Steve!! Chandler is still talking about the ride you gave him!!

IMG_20250809_173946.jpg IMG_20250810_150929.jpg IMG_20250810_155725.jpg out with the efficient, great working HEI!
In with the Craigslist dual point Mallory!
I finished the swap yesterday, set the dwell, and timing. Fired right up. Took it for a spin, but it had a bit of a miss. I couldn't figure what it was till i was putting the old vacuum advance distributor away when i realized that i never plugged the vacuum port on the carb. I got a cap on it now but i didn't have time to re- time it today. Hopefully tomorrow i get to re- tune it and it doesn't have that little hick-up.

Moved this over here from another thread:

Went on Charlie Price's Vintage Speed website early this morning and ordered one of his new 9-T-7 carbs to replace the flooding 94 that's sitting on top of the motor in the '48. Around noon, my phone rang, and it was Charlie wanting to know what the altitude was where I live so that he could make sure he had the right jets in the new carb. He assured me that it would be on its way to me tomorrow. I've had dealings with a lot of vendors over time trying to get this car ready for Lloydfest, but I've never had service like Charlie provides from any other vendor I've dealt with.

Alan, it does not. Wish it did, but I've got an electric tach anyways.

@tim troutman - did you find a bumper for your '61? Post a pic of it, I have a widow to check with.

    Thanks Andy
They look better in the pics than in person. They're pretty well pitted up, and they're brush painted, but I'm happy with them. Tractor supply Massey Ferguson color. Kind of a nod to '56 chevy red.Lol.

  24. Well I lost out, my buddy sold the car.

I believe everything happens for a reason & I was a bit concerned about it being a stick. Laura can drive a stick (insert joke here), but the cancer meds do weaken her a bit, so maybe this means I can find an automatic instead. Still would have been cool to surprise her at Lloydfest next month!:)

I still have 2 or 3 customers cars to transport before LF3 & still have to work on Stubby a bit, but very much looking forward to getting down there. It's Gonna Be Great!

I am also wondering about Thursday Evening at the same place as Ron @55 Ford Gasser was.

    God Bless
