Eddie Ford's Aussie bodied 34 5 window coupe with 272 Y-block and 3 speed and an Edsel grille in the 32 shell. Was painted Metalflake green.

These were both Eddie's cars. He got the Chev coupe to build a hot rod but found out it was full of wood. S o he got the Ford only to find out that Aussie 34 Fords were also full of wood. The 34 ended up as the channelled coupe in the pic above. And the Chev coupe ended up as a rod also.

  3. @swifty , roundabout 1970 my dad and i went to check out a 1929 Nash coupe in Castlemaine . I allready had a rotten twin-ignition sedan and wanted something better. The fella had a long pole barn full of nice original vintage cars and a raised second floor with more cars. Do you know who he was ? Pretty sure it was,nt Eddie. Can,t remember if they were all Fords though. Anyhow for that time it was a well thought out collection, the junk was outside, thats where the Nash was and i did,nt buy. Sold my Nash for $50. Good profit as i got it for free, :D

Yes, that's a young Eddie with his 58 Chev tail-lights which he ordered from Cusacks Motors in Castlemaine - the local Holden and Chev dealers. BTW Eddie is now 84 years old and still producing his bi-monthly Restored Cars magazine.

Y'know sometimes I sit here on the H A M B and wonder things in these great pictures of days gone by.. Like, did that young fella ever become a drag racer, or did these 2 ever get married etc. For people like me who weren't around in the golden days of American hot rodding. This is one of my favorite threads, I can only sit here and wonder. Keep them coming, Cheers

@34 GAZ I've thought long and hard and can't come up with someone who fits your description. I reckon that Nash coupe got partially hot-rodded by a couple of young blokes down the bottom end of the main street but then it disappeared from the drive-way. I'll ring Eddie tomorrow and see if he can come up with any ideas.

Jim Miles first ran this coupe with a flathead but by the early ‘60’s he graduated to a fuel Chrysler that ran 10.20’s around 150mph. He later became famous for losing the crank right off the line in his Magic Muffler Fiat.
