Maybe he was drinking some of Mrs. Olsen's coffee with an additive .

The discussion is all valid lighten up.
If it was Ollie Olson’s car it has almost been bastardized into the scrap metal heap.

Didn't Olson's car have a very odd reverse 4 bar rear suspension?

Man are you the other guy she’s talking to?
I talked to her and was literally in the truck coming down with cash and she called it off said somebody offered 5k over asking price I was pissed lol.
The car kinda has some sentimental value to me I am friends with a distant relative of Bob “rapid” Dwyer he drove the car for Ollie

IMG_3981.jpeg IMG_3981.jpeg I will admit The section job is definitely an acquired taste however i’ve kinda grown to love it. I think it would definitely be sacrilegious to do anything to the car other than drop in another injected 426 hemi and re letter the doors
I think the Car has survived way too long to get changed around now‍♂️

To answer a question I saw earlier i believe the car has a steel roof and quarters (that was repaired from a rollover in 1960) hand formed aluminum front fenders, grill section, glass doors, glass rear fenders, glass trunk lid. Floors firewall and rear inner fender wells are all aluminum.
At least that’s what I’ve got from my picture hunt over the last couple days.

No, that wasn't me! She told me upfront that she had offers above the asking price. I never got to speak on the phone with her even after multiple requests for the number and that I was local.
I hope whoever gets it does the car justice and it stays in Florida.

Wow what a cool find, hopefully the new owner checks in here with some updates and intentions.

I like the section job though I feel it would benefit from work to the roof and fenders, maybe if they were flattened just a touch to accent the lower stance.

Ya I sure hope so, sucks I was the first person to call on it. the post didn’t even say 10 minutes when I messaged her. I still got her number though and still trying although I called this morning like she said to and she’s ghosting me now.
Was looking forward to parking it right next to Bob lee’s thunder shifter I’m the guy that brought the car back down from Michigan a couple months back

Interesting history but with the section the car would now be an altered rather than gas car if you stick to the actual rule book for the time it was raced.

Don't you see the photos of the car just like this, " for the time it raced"?

Have you seen the steel Willys on marketplace in Tampa for sale? Stock steel rolling shell for 35k with stock floor and firewall ‍probably a better start this car I’m thinking

Um what is this the Willys restoration club annual tea party? That thing is as sick as it gets! the pics speak for themselves...it's old and 100% real ....but yeah skin that ugly paint off, unsection it and put a V6 in it maybe turn it it into a 4 dr. ...that would be cool

I normally don't care for custom bodied willys , like chopped top '40-'42 Willys , but this is starting to grow on me . Would still attempt to un - section it though.

Why, there already is at least one, that's plenty, if one needs to get creative there's enough oddball, s#/t around to cut up.

  28. Two pages and not a mention that it's not a 41, front sheet metal is 40 and 41- 42's have the wipers below the windshield, 37-40 above. It's cool as it stands, i like it. JW

Ollie Olsen was evidently a talented racer And innovator. This car shows the progression of this, all in the pursuit of making it go Faster. I don't pretend to know the story of when it got sectioned, but I don't hate it. (Think SWC blue car with the bottom cut off, ugh). Now, visualize This car in one color (photoshop, anyone), I Know that I would Drive it!

Sadly it is the car despite the fact that Ollie is probably rolling over in his grave now.

It should be returned to its original state or scrapped.
