Notice also one piece bumpers, and if I remember correct those aeroplanes from rear fenders are handmade (cast aluminium?!).

Even though yellow is my least favorite color, I'm also a huge fan of that '60. I snapped this one at Paso this year.

Hmm, I can't get the links to show up as pictures. The car belongs to Docfranknstein here on the HAMB.

That "Elky" from Japan used to be a four door, maybe even a wagon if my mind serves me correct. Pretty neat...

all joking aside, there are some pretty bad ass cars in this thread. I always wanted to build a chopped and slammed 59-60 with a persian rug for a bed cover and interior carpets and candy gold paint and a magic lamp shifter knob (kind of an Aladdin theme). It would be called "the flying Karpet". Maybe ill have to do one for the model thread or friday art show.

I can't remember how old but a few (5+) years ago Custom Rodder featured a WILD ElCo form the midwest (witchita?) that was fully customized, flat purple with gloss scallops. anybody remember or have pics?
it was one of the coolest El Caminos I had ever seen...

What a great old thread! Got to love 1st gen Elc's. They even made their way down under to Australia. This example is owned by a mate of mine that recently passed away, I am in the process of trying to buy it from his folks, got to make sure the old girl is looked after!
