Found a Roku channel I'd thought I'd share, it's called Cinema Box. Love it! And it free !

So far California kid, American graffiti, original Gone in 60 seconds, original Vanishing Point, Dirty Mary Crazy Larry, and a bunch more.

Even has Munsters Go Home! Which has a lot of the Dragula in it.

It's basically a late 70's down movie channel so alot of the action movies of the time.

It's been hard trying to find some of these especially in 1 place AND for free...

@Dave G in Gansevoort I was really surprised to see NO commercials myself !

I'm hooked too, a lot of other good "Man" movies on there too.

I find another movie I want to see every time I go on there to watch the last movie I found. I just wish they had a "saved" list.

Also in case some haven't noticed at the very top of the screen is a small icon symbol for search function...

  11. Alas, I went to see if this was available on Firestick, nope. Have to check Chromecast options. I don't have Roku, but was hoping that I'd have similar.

I have ROKU, but can't find it with a "Search". Do you have the actual channel number?

@duecesteve my son watched that movie with me when he was about 15 or 16.

He was really into it and then the last few minutes of the movie his jaw dropped, sit there speechless for about 30 seconds and then looks at me real serious and says "dad, that ain't right !" I started laughing, he said "I never seen that coming ! What a way to end a movie!"

We still laugh about it today, some 12 years later....

  17. Got Cinema Box as an app on my Android phone, which I can cast to the Chromecast dongle hooked to my tv. A bit convoluted, but it gets me there, when needed. Couldn't find the car movies mentioned, may need to search again. Is it possible, that Cinema Box for Android is country specific, like Discovery channel, Netflix etc?

Thanks for the tip. We have Roku and had no clue Cinema Box was a thing. But then I found it doesn't have Thunder Road; bummer.

Pretty cool, thanks. Watched Moonrunners last night, the movie on which the Duke boys was loosely based. Waylon Jennings was the best narrator ever.

@Kiwi 4d thunder road is on tubi, free.

@Harms Way the search function is real picky, you have to go 1 letter at a time and pause between each letter. If you go too fast for some reason it kicks you out, or at least it does me.

Mrs. Maisel with no commercials on Prime TV

    Hello,

We have seen those old car movies as they were coming out in the early cable tv company shows. Now, they are usually buried within some of those old channels with commercials. Despite the new channels on streaming tv, commercials are ruining it and was one reason we only watch shows and movies on the commercial free channels. Since we all get regular tv with tons of commercials, why continue to get other channels with commercials?

Some of the streaming tv series are such that if one watches two, it is a two hour movie. But, the fun, excitement, and viewing goes on for the next night and beyond, until the year series or in this case,

“The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” series went on for 5 seasons. So, if you did not want to watch it per season, then these days, one could start the series and watch a show per night or two per night.

    2017 ‧ Drama ‧ 5 seasons

    8 Shows For Season 1
    10 For Season 2
    8 For Season 3
    8 For Season 4
9 For Season 5. That equates to 43, 1 hour shows.

So, if it is a 1 hour show for each night, then you are set for a month and 13 nights. Ha! Or if you are like most folks who watch a 2 hour movie as entertainment, a 2 episode viewing per night gets you watching consecutively for at least 20 days. It is almost a movie time showing per evening viewing.

With a premise of laughter, families and situations in old 50s scenarios, one would think that show, “Mrs. Maisel” would be a bore. Nothing further from the actual fun time of 5 seasons and old cars galore, including a 50s drag race location and racing.
    upload_2024-8-28_2-53-30.png
For us, it was a season per year and it was a regular show, as part of out viewing when it was shown as first run. But, if you missed it each season, you are now in for a treat as a consecutive watching tv streaming show.

Yes, subscriptions are a part of a channel with top quality shows and movies all without commercials. But, at least, one can watch them without interruptions of advertised stuff we care nothing about.

One other show with so many different 50s cars was a show called “Lessons In Chemistry.” It shows cars as part of the whole community and in living color, that puts one right in the middle of the timeline. The So Cal background is set up perfectly to depict the time of the events. The cars are a pure joy. So, was the series… But, it should have continued for a second season or longer, but sadly, it ended after one season.

    upload_2024-8-28_2-56-10.png

The final one that we have watched is “Daisy Jones and The Six.” A series about a rock group growing up and struggling with life as they lived it through a rock music scenario. Los Angeles canyon living, parties, tours and concerts all played a big part. But the cars of the movie are the ones a lot of people can associate with along with the timeline of the whole show. It could have lasted a couple of more seasons with the character lines, but, it too lasted one season… YRMV

Only one service of that kind here, and that wouldn't have Cinema Box, so we've been getting into free movie websites, like LekukuEnt and Braflix. They tend to last a few months before getting taken down due to cease-and-desist orders, shedding quality and growing pop-ups all the time, whereafter they reappear with a different address. Best to keep looking on a permanent basis.
