Thanks for the great photos. Been watching the coverage on YouTube. I was there the week before on vacation and there was a record breaking 30,000 jeeps in town for the jeep invasion. Only rods I saw were a few in Dollywood. DSC00854.JPG DSC00852.JPG DSC00853.JPG

Actually I was thinking more about the car than personal discomfort. Water in seats/carpet,electrical connections, and possibly the engine. It looks like you have a nice car, and I'm all about building a car to drive rather than show..........but I just can't imagine putting that much work into one and driving it in the rain. Hope your trips are enjoyable and safe.........:)

Great job Gary and thanks for posting the photos. You even caught a few shots of my 32 black sedan.

I asked Bobby about the show continuing elsewhere & by who & he said it's over! But you never know. Hope it continues in some form. The Shades of the Past Club have done a phenomenal job hosting this event over the years. It has never disappointed in my close to 30 years of attendance. Best wishes to all of them.

Water in the cockpit usually isn't a problem. My seats are upholstered in vinyl, I drilled a couple of half inch holes in the floor, and used synthetic carpet with no padding. When the rain stops open the cowl vent and everything dries pretty quickly. If the wiring is done properly with weather proof connections and the exposed switches and fuse blocks are under the dash all is good to go except in the most extreme conditions.

A roadster should be built like a motorcycle, or boat. Water proof interior materials, drain holes in the lower doors and floor, plus a good toneau cover. Pack like a long distance biker - rags to wipe down the seats after parking, rain gear for both occupants (gloves, rain suits and perhaps even boot covers). A full face helmet would be great, but look out of place in an older car.

Duck is one of a kind for sure, super nice guy, and a heck of a car guy he only owns four HAMB qualified cars now but has owned at least 50 over the years. Curiously he is not a member of the HAMB. His current project is a 40 Ford coupe that had been sitting outside for 30 years. Here are a couple of photos of him from our Road Dog Roadster Tour to Utah this past Oct. If you see him at an event somewhere stop and say hello, you will be greeted like a long lost friend and won't regret it. 20221015_104740.jpg 20221017_144759.jpg 20221019_131105.jpg
