I buried my cousin Floyd today! Even tho I doubt he was ever on here or even known , much out of our county, he was a real car guy! He was born on Halloween in the 40s in my great uncles car! How about that for a car guy start? He was class of ‘59 and was kinda the “ John Milner” of our area. He had brothers and sisters and lived in the middle of our little town! There were always cars and guys and girls , everywhere…all the time! He was super kool to me, his ten year junior cousin! He had a Triumph motorcycle, a 1959 Chevy two door Implala and a 1957 T-bird with two fours, plus a motorboat! And these were just some of the cars and things he owned, in his life. I included his picture and the back of his obituary…..check out the two songs his sister selected for him! He came into this world in a car and went out to car songs! I will miss my cousin! He is responsible for my addiction….today!

Sounds as though you lost a cousin and a good friend. I remember the early years when most of my relatives lived pretty close to one another and there were family gatherings, but as time went on we drifted apart only seeing one another at a wedding or funeral. No one can revisit the time one lost but the memories of what you did have will be with you forever.
    God bless Floyd Mitchell.

  19. So very sorry. Seems many of us had that older friend, cousin, brother, uncle or just someone who was always there as we were coming up, and kept our focus on cars. It hurts when they leave us. Keep pushing forward in his memory.

We are all fortunate to have our memories of the latter 1900's.
We had action adventure and Friends that were not afraid to be different.
I can see the edge of the ' cliff ' from where I am, but I'm so glad to have known the folks
that were a big part of the action of livin' life.
    Bless those memories.
