Let's See Those GOATS

  1. Looking through an Autotrader saw this advertised, seemed way to cheap but went and looked at it. Only options were buckets and console with a 3-speed. So nice and so cheap had to score it. One of only a few cars I actually made money on.

All the work was done at the dealership. When Pontiac got killed he used the car as collatoral to a body shop owner. It was parked behind me at the GG's Pleasanton car corral and we got to talking. Ended up an even trade for my black cloned SS396 Camaro. Had 17" Cragars. Another one I shoulda kept.

Horribly scanned old pictures, but this was my dad's '67

  7. I had a 68 Tempest in Meridian Turquoise certain light it was greenish and other light it was blueish, not a GTO but still a good looking car.

My brother had a black 69 GTO in the mid 70's, he had it hopped up and it was pretty fast. A couple ol boys talked him into being the driver for a couple strong arm robberies one night, they got caught and he got a nickel stint in the Walls.
I asked him how fast it was and his reply was, "not fast enough" .

  8. I have had two. When I got out of the army in '70. I bought a red on red on red bucket seat 4 speed '65.
Sold it in'72 and bought a gold on gold on gold '67 bucket seat 4 speed one owner car from I guy I worked with.
Of all the cars I have owned over the yrs., those two are my favorites.

It survived my sisters driving it while I survived
RVN. By 1970 a new Chevelle was calling me…….Great memories

On the back of this one is written "Ready to honk! Elberton, Ga Sun. 21 Mar '65". Would have been 13 Forks Drag Strip.

This is my high school ride, slowly going back together. It’s been off the road since the 70s. The motor and trans all rebuilt, the body in epoxy IMG_0777.png IMG_0778.png

My ultimate dream Pontiac is a Carousel Red 1969 Judge hardtop with the RAIV, 4 speed and 3:90 or 4:33 rear gears. Doubt I’ll ever have the cash for one but that’s that “someday” goal.
I did own a 1968 GTO with a 428, 4 speed and 3:55 rear, quick car. I also owned a 67 LeMans with a 4 speed and an open 3:23 with a transplanted 325 horse Catalina engine, that car would move out pretty well for what it was.

I sold the 65 clone to buy the 67 vert in 2005. Did a frame off on the 67 and put it on the road about 10 years ago. Still driving it! 400 4 bbl, th400 and factory A/C. 65 GTnO.jpg DSCN0656a.jpg

My 68 GTO that I have had 44 years now. My dad bought it new, and I got it when 16. Rebuilt the engine and repainted it, both with help from dad. It's a P/S, P/B, A/C, and hideaway headlights. Orig 400 350hp engine, T400 Automatic. Only thing changed is I added front disc brakes. Still puts a smile on my face every time I drive it. Great cruiser, not so much a drag race car. Only has 35k miles since the rebuild 44 years ago, 144k on car total.
