Interesting to see this making reference to just "World War" without the "I" or "II" following it. But it makes me wonder why we sometimes seem so anxious to add "WW III" to the list . . .
This was probably made between the wars, and who would have thought (in the 1920's for instance) that humanity would be faced another war-to-end-all-wars?
The stainless trim surrounding the windows and double holes on its front fenders and doors indicate the car is a Bel Air 2 door sedan. @pigIRON63 scores again!
this sign hung on the wall at my father in law's business. The local parts store owner gifted it to him years ago. At the time he had a 64 Sedan DeVille. The parts store was located in the old dealership building in town. The parts store owner said it was left behind when the new dealership was built.
@pigIRON63 That Cadillac sign is GOLD, literally! I'd love to find something like that. The '56 Belair post is a good score too, even if it's rotten, you've got everything you'd need to convert a 4 door. It doesn't look too bad, though. I've been there 4 times now, twice a couple of years ago and twice this year. Seems like I never look at the same thing twice. The guy cleaning it out is the nephew of the original owner, he's been really cool with us looking around and selling stuff. Sometimes with a place like this, the people in charge don't want anyone in there, but this guy has been really nice, and has saved a fair bit of stuff from the scrap heap by selling it off. There were several old gas pumps too, apparently some with globes that were inside, but I didn't get to see those before they were sold. Lots of old cars, but all very wrecked. Last I heard, there was someone who planned to take the dome apart and re-erect it as a garage. I really hope that story is true, time will tell. It's massive in diameter, made up of interlocking fiberglass panels. It was the top of a wastewater treatment pond. Previous owner found out it was getting torn down, so he went there, took it all apart, hauled it home, and rebuilt it on his property.
Someone in the NE Georgia, west North Carolina, east Tennessee really needs this. It's not far from me but I have nowhere to put it
Well it’s not car parts but I had an in-law that was selling a lot of tools. She is having a yard sale Sunday. I got in today and bought some stuff. Kennedy toolbox full of tools. he green box is full of files. There is 2 Snap-on ratchets. There are some SK sockets and Snap-on sockets. There was quite a few strippers in the package. There was a Rigid ease out kit. There was a knock out kit. There was a box of electrical terminals. There was also a ferrule kit with 2 crimpers. She lives in Ringgold Georgia if anyone is in the area there’s still a bunch of good stuff.
I found this door today. It was in the bottom of a pile of parts loaded into a field car. As I was checking it out, I noticed it had no marks where the bolts would go. Upon further inspection I realized that it was NOS. It is for a 4 door, but it was only $50. I bought it to cut up for patches, but now I'm on the fence about hacking it up.
I do have a 4 door 55, I thought about a 2 door conversion, but it does have a chance staying 4 door. I'll probably throw it in the parts pile to sort out later.
Here is a small blue contribution. A slammed 50’s sedan, early pickup with three carbs and zoomies, in the background a 37ish ford with a hitch. All likely made before I was born.
I for sure needed this and I definitely didn't already have way too much stuff. At least, that's the lie I'm telling myself.
Marked AFB Carter, but what do you call these aluminum tops? Aftermarket, or some Muscle car guy's Holy Grail?
